its a lovely letter and something i think is important for us to do in whatever way works for us. Personally I would not just do letters and nothing else - as in personal essay style there is often the chance to be more nuanced and learn more as u write - but that's only my opinion which i give as u asked the question

Suzie, I appreciate the openness and courage in your writing and sharing. Many of us can relate to your experience, and perhaps not all of us have fully processed the feelings and emotions expressed. In response to your question, I would suggest yes, as you have intimated; it can be cathartic. However, I also think it gives others permission to explore and understand their own experiences.

This means alot to me @Jesse Wilson. I took a deep breath while I hit post as it was so personal. I have been doing alot of work this past summer with a gifted therapist in putting to rest the past and embracing the now. I don’t believe it ever ends but the learning and growing has been worth it.
