What a journey you've taken us on, May :) Your raw honesty is inspiring. Owning your shit takes a huge leap of faith and you've done it with vulnerability and integrity. You've come a long way, my friend. I love this story!! 🤍

Thx 4 reading Marcia - of course I haven’t written in this piece what led me to make some of my later decisions, and on two occasions it was how I was being treated by the men that i left. And I put the early behaviors down to youth lol <3

We all learn lessons as we walk the path of our lives, but not all of us do the introspect thing to understand just how we've hurt the other person, and how in the long run it has affected us. It's a good thing to do, as it helps us to understand ourselves, and GROW.

LOVED this essay. You did such a great job of showing this journey of learning about love, going through all the highs and lows, and making it really real and relatable!

Thx Diana - sometimes when writing essays like this you just have to say it as it is - then look over and think about what the experiences taught u - glad u like it <3

As you said, communication is key in all relationships. I think compatibility is also key to a great and flourishing relationship. There's also the sexual compatibility when it comes to a romantic or conjugal relationship. There were two relationships I had that could have lasted if we were sexually compatible.

My husband and I feel lucky to have each other because we are compatible in most matters. We can talk about all sorts of things. There's no taboo and nothing shocks us. If we choose not to tell the other something, that is when we want to protect the other person, which we mutually agree is the right thing to do.

thats a big thing - nothing is taboo to chat about and was why my relationship with seb failed - he was horrified about some of the things i wanted to chat about :-D

You are welcome. I had a much longer response about "couples and fidelity" and writing erotica, but I noticed that I have been ranting a little too much lately so I scrapped it. Hopefully, you have time to read some of my work too.

You and I have been thru a lot. Of course in MY case it was more along the lines of getting underwear for Christmas when I was a kid... 😖💦😅
